Capturing Autumn Magic with the Pratt Family
Welcome to the Pratt’s Sylvan Lake Family Session. I’ve had the pleasue of photographing the Pratt’s daughter on two seperate occassions, and it was a true honor when they asked me to update their family portraits. There’s something uniquely special about watching families grow and evolve. Being apart of that journey through my lens is a privilege that I deeply appreciate and do not take lightly.
Fall is my favorite season for photoraphy. The crisp air is refreshingly cool, the weather is usually just right-not too hot and not too chilly. Perhaps the best of all, there are no pesky bugs to contend with. This year I had the chance to take advantage of these ideal conditions on a gorgeous October fall evening for this Sylvan Lake Family Session.
The Pratt’s had discovered this picturesque spot while out for a bike ride around their acreage. It’s always exciting when clients find such perfect locations. Especially when it is a location that is special to them, it adds extra meaning to your portraits. And this location did not disapoint. We arrived with their beloved dog in tow – an added bonus that always makes sessions even more delightful. I absolutely love when clients include their fur babies! I am a huge animal lover myself and believe they are truely apart of your family and encourage clients to make sure they are apart of your family session. They add an extra layer of warmth and personality to your portraits.
The country charm of the dirt road combined with the Pratt’s brilliant choice of plaid shackets, perfectly captured the essence of fall. The trees lining the road, with the sunlight filtering through their golden leaves, created a breathtaking backdrop that seemed to scream autumn.
Our time together was filled with laughter and genuine connection. It was wonderful to catch up with the Pratt family, enjoying their company and the stunning scenery. These moments of shared joy and the beauty of the season made for a truly memorable family portrait session.
Capturing these fleeting fall days and the essence of family is what makes this job so rewarding. I look forward to more opportunites to create lasting memories with wonderful clients like the Pratts.
